The knowledge and implementation level of fishermen regarding fishing knowledge and fish legislation related to the fishing profession at Lake Nasser in Aswan Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the level of knowledge and implementation of fishermen at Lake Nasser in Aswan Governorate. Field data were collected using a personal interview questionnaire during the period from May to July 2021, for a simple random sample of 341 fishermen, out of a total of 3000 fishermen with a rate of 11.37%. Frequencies, percentages, actual range, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, relative weight and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data.
The most important results of the research were as follows: 1- The level of total knowledge was average 70.1 % according to the opinions of the fishermen.2- The level of total implementation was low 95 %. 3- It was found that there are positive attitudes towards sticking to the fishing profession; according to the opinions of 60.12 % of the fishermen.4- It was found that there are direct correlational relationships between the majority of the independent variables and the total knowledge and implementation as dependent variables.
