Abstract

The research aimed at identify the level of rural women’s implementation of environmental practices (land, water, air and food waste), as well as identifying the nature of the relationship between the studied independent variables (demographic, social and economic characteristics) and the level of rural women’s implementation of their role in preserving the environment and identifying some rural women’s information sources to preserve the environment. The environment. The research was conducted in the villages of Tarout and Qam Al-Arous in the governorates of Sharkia and Beni Suef, and a random sample of 333 rural women was selected using the Yamani equation. The arithmetic mean and the value of Pearson's simple correlation coefficient.
The most important results of the study were the following:
1- There is a direct and moral correlation between some demographic, social and economic characteristics, and the practices of rural women to preserve agricultural land in the study area.
The results of the study also indicated that 79% of rural women get their information about the environment from television programmes.
